hi dave , i spook to scotty, steyr are part of the buhks parent company, but not actually a buhk engine at all.
seems thay are a mono block (no cylinder head) and are a chuck away engine should any problem occure with the block, valves , pistons ...ect the thames police used for a while but cos thay cants be repaired thay stopped useing them quite quickly. thay also use the same blocks as Lombardini engines which are not the best to be polite about them . also parts that can be replaced are pricey. as karl said thay are good tractors but thats cos thay work harded in a tractor and that stops glazing of bores
so to cut a long story short, scottys advice was : - if you are looking to sell your boat and you can get one at the right price(@2-3k for a 2004 model with very low hours) then go for it ,but in the long term if you wish to keep the boat stay away and get some think more reliable.
sorry its probaly not what you wanted to hear m8, but it might help if the boat is going on sale in the near future
cheers john

that iveco looks ok from what he said and the parts are probably cheap enough from a commercial motor factors you should get your beast running nice with that ;D
