Last days fishing was a glorious calm solent on new years day. Ryde west middle – whiting – doggies and nice bonus bass. Pink boat is now sat on the driveway undergoing some maintenance and mods. The rear deck has a nice inner moulding with a recessed sump – I would like to fit an electric bilge pump. Does anyone have any recommendations? - models - size – tips - horror stories etc?

Top article Pete - many thanks - boat is indeed a Bonwitco 449C - DT40 Suzuki - just the right amount of performance and comfort for me!

Petes post is spot on, I got a small pump from Ebay and it works really fine. I actually used it in anger for the first time last saturday and was really impressed how quickly it pumped the water away. I have'nt fitted a float swich I just switch it on as needed, like you my boat is also on a trailer. Good luck Keith

Have fitted a non return valve (£3) to the out let hose on mine, It some how sucked water up into to the boat and its 12" above the water line on the side of the boat.
