Hello Kevin A dory isnt it? If its what I'm thinking of their very similar (if not the same as a Pilot or a Wilson) If their not exactly the same as either of the previously mentioned I would'nt know how it would compare against the others but the design's been tested and proven. Quite alot of cabin in comparison to deck space? I think the back of the cabin on the CJR sweeps back with a curve and the cabined pilot and wilson come back at a straight angle. Dave.S on here has a fishing boat and equipment resource site, have a look here to see if theres any. www.fishing-boats.info/If not have a look on boats and outboards to see what their selling for, I'd search 'dory' 'Wilson flyer' and 'pilot' aswell as 'CJR' as the search feature is funny on that site. www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/php/welcome.php3Good luck with her

Hi No I don't have any reports on the CJR as yet. Here is a link to see some photo's of a CJR www.boatshop24.co.uk/Checkmarine%20CJR%2014-boats.html my concirn would be the low height of the transom and the large front window. A large volume of water against that window and it could easily be pushed in and swamp the boat, simarly the low transow could allow water over the back. I would call these craft "river boats" and would not expect to go to sea however close into shore in anything less than 15ft. If you just fished a harbour fine but out where the swell can build up very quickly is not the place for a small craft. These are just my personal thoughts. Dave

We have had a couple of cjr 14s at our club over the years and as Dave s says they are only realy suitable for fishing in very sheltered waters and for a maximum of 2 people. The low transom makes them very vunerable to swamping when coming ashore on an open beach as we do.
Rich.
