Picked up some storm bait elastic on friday as this is all he had (normally use ghost) and must say its good stuff, a snip at £1.35 Its thin, strong and stays done up well. In fact its so strong that when i tested it it nearly cut my finger like cheese wire (be careful when you snap it!). Recommended.

Dont think they are picy in that respect, but the thiner the better i would have thought. Some cheaper stuff like the `strike`stuff is awfully weak and thick.

hate it when your binding a bait and the laccy keeps snapping

it also helps to be carefull when buying it. there are different strengths and thicknesses for different purposses, i found out the hard way when i picked up some stuff ages ago, so there i was trying to bind up a very small lug bait with stuff that was nigh-on bungee chord! personally i preffer it as thin as poss for all my fishing. still got that ultra thick stuff and never found a use for it!

Not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs, but you have to remember that like most "elasticated" products contain compounds that eventually degrade. Therefore, If like me you do not use the elastic often, your perception of what is good and what is bad could be tainted, as over weeks / months you use it, and expose it to the elements, it will deteriorate , resulting in the classic, "this stuff is crap - it is always breaking" Not dissing anyone on this site, I know some of the stuff you get in the shops might as well be made of thin air as it is so crap at holding, and other stuff might as well be made of 1000Lb breaking strain braid - just making an observation

what ever i use, i keep it in an ian golds elastic container, i can actually use a complete roll ! , i put a strip of flo tape around so it do'nt get lost on the beach! storm elastic seems to be ok, nice and fine and strong, the fox stuff is pretty good, but very expensive!, mustard also have an elastic, which is pretty good allround stuff. i think its pay your money, takes your choices!!!!!!!!!!!!!
