Hi Neil, the canopy is not essential as she has a self draining thingypit, Niel it can be sometimes a couple of weeks before i can get down there, so does keep every thing nice and dry+ its handy as there is an extra bed rear of the thingypit you no, lazeretetythingy, bit chilly this time of the year tho, only takes 5 minutes or so to take it off.
