Well thank you Richard. My eight year old daughter has become a bit of a demon on the old blogger pages, she has created a page on her cat and one on DR who! Basically single handed too! (and better looking than mine!) Now i know who i`m gonna get to be my `web technician` I think you can get to her pages through `my complete profile`on there ;D

Very interesting mate wish I could join you but IOW is a bit of a trip for us - might come over in the boat next summer. Actually Sean and I want to do a sole targetting sesh some time. I have been told that they turn up in front of the golf course on Hayling (that is on the far west side of our island) but the area which really interests me is West Wittering Beach which has a huge sandy area off shore. 1. Have you any knowledge of these two venues? 2. I suppose the sole season is now over until next summer but where do they go in winter?

Hi mate, and thanks. I don't have any knowledge of those venues i`m afraid, but they sound worth a go! Funny you should mention about the sole as a few were caught at a fixed venue at yarmouth a week ago here, so me and my buddy are gonna get a session in when the tides come around again. I think the high water temps are keeping them here. As to where they go.......i know the netters are getting plenty offshore now, so maybe they just go into deep water! Cheers Ps, i could take you to my best sole haunt if you come over after the end of may onwards

Just been right through your site Solehunter , strange fish really aren't they!.Very interesting. Never knew that about hayling either Eccles, equally interesting. I know of some large ones in the harbours as a bycatch to oystering and the small beach at clarence just past the funfair in Portsmouth (entrance side) has given up a few to me and others over the years but i have never seriously fished for them, might give it a go next year. A 3lb sole was caught off of S.Parade pier recenttly, that would have made a nice meal

Not numbers, but we pickup 3/4 a year while sole bashing. Mostly averaging about a pound. I know it doesnt look it, but the mullet in that pic is actually 1lb13oz and was 16 inches
