Yeah Nick I ordered a replacement clutch arm that seems to fail in every 6500 after a few years, £2.64 inc postage I actually almost forgot I had the Mag Elite (old green one) and found it at the bottom of a box. If I can revive it, then I'll have two operational ;D (If you've ever had the problem where the spool doesn't reengage when you turn the handle, you will know what I mean

As with all things Slippery,no guarantees that these suppliers always provide a good service to all mate. I got wot I needed within 48hrs mate..maybe they dont like Island Money....lolol Do a link for the successful company that helped you though as then we "ALL" can enjoy the service of a better parts supplier as the more links we have the better for all the members. Nuff sed..!!!!!!!!!1 Gazza

Hope you sort it out! If you need any hints on fitting it just drop me a PM The 5500 and 6500 clutch arms have different part numbers I think but not sure if they are actually physically different. You might be better off ordering the 6500 one and putting the 5500 one back.

thats what i was planning, the 5500 one works fine in the 6500 and vice verca. when i get it i'll have a play around and see which works best. i keep looking at the 5500 and thinking what a shame its out of service, its a great reel to fish with and i cant wait!
