In certain conditions I pay alot of attention to bait presentation & a cold beach or boat isnt always the easiest of places to get this right. I have in the past done it at home & then froze the snood complete with the bait. I have never found this to weaken either the snood hook or link but for those more scientifically minded would there be cause for concern with weakening particular tackle components?

only if they are made of ice cream! only joking, i used to do the same with my ammo sandeels bang em on pennels then put them in a flask into the freezer and never had any worries... but I am just as intrested to see if it causes any weaknesses..

I`ve been useing that plumbers freeze spray for years on my muscle baits and it`s never effected my snoods ........well not that I have ever noticed .
The freeze spray is called Artic Ice Spray ......and you can get it from most DIY stores .....................not cheep though £7.00+ per tin ......................but it does work realy well for freezing your bait onto the hook prior to casting out .........and you dont loose any bait..............................just watch out for your fingers though.

That is a great idea mate ,now I wont have to make up 20 snoods, bait them freeze them, convince the mrs they wont make the raspberry pavlova taste of shellfish and ruin a good food flask to boot just to get a big limpet bait out whole. My bro-in-law is a plumber  |
