Too late for the patent then, do you now all want a laugh at micks (my) expense. We fished the pier tonight, and i left it on the rail. D'OH And the fishing was rubbish, 2 dogs and 2 whiting

I cant see your pic for some reason Mick so tell me if Im describing whats in your photo. There is a rest around that Ive seen used on charter boats thats made from a padded material that is wrapped around a handrail & secured with velcro, on the top where your rod sits there is a thin strap again velcro secured which stops your rod from sliding off the padded section. A great investment for a couple of quid. I got a couple made by comoran on the back of the boat rails.

pete there like a length of coat hanger wire covered in foam,look like a long foam savaloy,i think they use them in hairdressers

i was talkin to the bro in law about these, he's seen em in builders merchants as ladder ties,, says they are about 2.50 each

May as well buy 1 of these , breakaways uni rest , only about 4 quid i think i paid , the top swivells around to suit your position and you just cut the part that wraps around the pier rail to suit !!!, great for boats and piers !!!! lee.
