I am looking to replace or upgrade my okuma epix eb 40, which is brilliant but battered (6yrs old),
It is for lure fishing and I just wondered what you guys use or reccomend............

i use the daiwa regal 4000xi cant fault it, cheep at £40

I'm the same as you Nick, I have an Okuma baitrunner, I think it's the next one down from yours. Smooth as silk. If you've had 6 years from your last reel, I'd get another one the same, or as similar as you can get. Okuma seem to be turning out some nice reels. Good package too, you get extra spools, spare handle and spare gaskets.

A work colleague has a pair of Okuma Interceptor bait runners. He rates them highly and he's quite discerning. Also, I have read good reviews on them. I'm in the market for a new bait runner......or two. Got a birthday coming up soon......  |
