Ah yeh!, me & several users of this forum used to fashion our own version of them prior to these coming about. Convient to say the least!

solent tackle sell these with hooks instead of an eye,i use the hook ones with a twin tail on the hook for drifting wrecks.
that way you can just tie it on and away you go as there is no need to use weights,booms etc you reduce the chances of snagging. ;D

thats the kiddies. pete at solent tackle makes me 6 & 10 ounce ones with 10/0 hooks in.
i have no problems getting down to 240 ft with them.
it also works out cheaper as you dont loose so much tackle

I use them for flounder fishing as long as the lateral tide isn't too strong. I would recommend though another swivel at the bottom of the trace near the lead link as well as the top because they spin a lot due to the shape and can twist the line a bit but otherwise very good
