Blimey mate, have you come over to the "dark side"? Nice to see you may be out on the beaches in the near future! With that rod you'll probably be able to hit Lymington with a bit of a run up Steve.

My local tackle shop owner has been trying to sell me that rod for a couple of years now (bit rich for me), he rates it highly. Should be good Andy, we await the review!

I can't see which rod it is as that link doesn't work anymore. Interesting though because my fishing buddy and I are always discussing the castability of rods. He uses a 12 ft Ron Thompson Carbostick which he puts a lot of bend into and chucks out about 150 yds on a good day using his own version of the overhead thump. Just to show him, I can cast about the same distance with my 91/2 ft Abu uptider using OTG technique which of course is a more powerful cast than his. He doesn't quite understand how I can do this but that little Abu has just about the right amount of compression in it to achieve a lot of sinker acceleration in the final flick of an OTG cast and of course it is full carbon so it doesn't bust easily. My ideal (which I don't have yet but I am looking) would be a 12 to 13 ft all carbon in three sections (so I can carry it on my bike) which loads well when using OTG and has just the right flexibility to do at least 180 yds with the final flick without busting.

Have you fished with it yet or are you still admiring it? It looks like a fine rod.
