Sounds great Squidders but I am not a big rod fan and probably never will be seeing as Neil Mackellow showed us how to chuck a 12.5 ft rod near 200 yds a week or two back, I just don't see the point and I prefer something which is easy to transport and use.

I know what you mean but where it is 3 pieces It is quite small and light, lighter than my 12 foot daiwa! I am not good at casting and thought it might help

OK Squidders, I'll take it, when can I come and pick it up? (LOL) I wouldn't mind giving it a try with my OTG technique (recently learned). Actually, my casting used to be crap - maximum 60/70 yds and my fishing buddy used to take the p**s but since learning how to do OTG I can do more like 150 yds - would recommend it and no the bait does not come off much because OTG means a steady acceleration of the rod tip if you get it right.

review of the rod. A powerful user friendly fishing tool, cast 200 yrds easily with a 6oz plain lead with a off the ground, I then switched to a 5oz still achieved same distance but did not feel as good i think with a 6oz is a realistic rating not the 8 n three quarter oz rating on the rod!! positives. user friendly with a simple cast. good powerful but sensitive tip. well constructed. fits in the car well. 14 foot long which you need to get height in the rough. definitely would handle 6oz lead and a whole pout. negatives. fixed reel seat, so the position of the reel is down to grauvell not the individual! The eyes are in no way designed for British fishing with the use of shock leader and will become a massive prob even with a strand of weed on your knot as the last 4 eyes are so small but get it re-rung with a quality set of eyes lose the reel seat (personal preference), and it really is a quality bit of kit which for me to say about a 3 piece rod is something! But what you paid for it Andy and even with a re-eye its a bargain and will definitely be a top rod for those tackle killing marks round the back of the isle. 8/10 is my score......... Oh sorry yes it will improve your casting bigtime 10000x the rod than that diawa muck
