I'm sitting here fitting new hooks and traces to my lures. I always use the Rapala loop knot to tie a separate trace to each lure. Does anyone use crane swivel or similar to connect the reel line loop direct to the lure and if so does it work as well?

gemini link is what we use now,so you can change quickly and doesn't seem to scare them off.
also braid to the link no mono at all.

I use a leader knot to mono, then surgeons knot for the loop. Use the split ring provided on the lure. A loop is supposed to give a better action acording to the Rapala chaps. Also, if it's good enough for Mike Ladle...  |

Try the hibro lure links at scotties perfect just as good as the rapala knot but alot easier to change lures...
