Dont like the look of them myself. Surly the fish would feel the weight AND the rod?

When used in carp fishing that 'weight' is what you are trying to create, as it creates a bolt effect. I'm sure on the occasions I have missed bites a bolt rig would have been more effective, as any type of running rig, with bow in the line and possible weed, is at best only half way house.
Never got round to trying it though!

Cheers for that - didn't get a chance to try it this weekend , the tide was pulling 7oz grips into shore, do I don't think this rig would have had a chance ;D
