looking for a new reel

hi i am looking to buy a new fixed spool reel for about £50-£80. will be fishing mainly North Norfolk coast. looked at Penn 850. are they any good?
£50 from several places but one chap says the £50 ones are crap and Penn re designed them and are now selling them for £100.
what others do you recommend.
