I've got some mark 4 tip lights but I don't want to superglue the mounts to my rod.Do you think it will hold with reflective tape wrapped around the base?cheers

I whip the mounts to the tips with strong cotton....its a bit fidly, then give it a few layers of clear nail varnish..............just gotta be 100% sure your leader is not caught around the light when casting! ;D

I have heard a few stories of this happening.....all true by all accounts. It DOES happen. Never been keen on any other tip light other than the good ole chemical one. I just tape the plastic tube to the tip and insert the light. The tube will stay on the tip for as long as the tape lasts. I use electrical insulation tape. On my last rods i think the tubes lasted around 3 years. Mutch better than fiddling around with taping them straight to the rod every trip.
