hi I'm going out in the next few hours to treat my self to some new tackle what do you recommend -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i think ill need to get light rod 12/20 main rod not fishing for the pot just fun if lead needed alows heasvey rod 20/30 wreking /heavy leads uptider 2/8 a backup allround what reels to go with them also id like a list of general must haves ill spend up to around £1000

I think you've scared people away with your £1000 budget! Plus shore angling is generally much more represented here than boat angling

i thought it was a resonable one for 3 rods reels and then braid or mono as what dose a good srt of beach rods and reels set tou back

6/12 lb class ugly stick coupled with a penn 535 for all round boat fishing,this set up should cost £120 max new and an ugly stick 30lb with a shimano tld 20,£160 max these rods cover all my needs from using shads over wrecks 200ft+ deep to congering. dont over gun the rods and reels you use,then you will have better sport. hope this helps
