Cheap but good Boots

Have your laugh first before reading on, yes I do sometimes shop at Aldi............

BUT they are selling winter ski gear at the moment and one of the items are mens winter boots. they are 'water resistant' 'teflon coated' have an aluminium insole as well as a thermal lining and Scotchlite reflective bits. They are fairly lightweight with a good strong bonded sole with plenty of grip. They come up about 5" above the ankle and the uppers are suede and some sort of cordura material.

They seem ideal for beach and boat wear but only cost £14.99. They are german made so cant be that bad.

They are also doing 30X zoom rubber binoculars with Ziess lenses for £12.99. I showed them to several skippers who thought they should have cost between £100 and £150.

There is a couple of stocking fillers worth considering.

I'm not laughing Snowy, I already know you can get good stuff there and at Lidl's too. Obviously you need to look at what you are buying but I recently got some waterproof insulated snowboarder trousers for just £20 and they are ace for beach work in present conditions. My best buy was last year;- boxes of tip lights for just 6p each. OK they are only good for one night but at that price who cares. Anyone who doesn't dive into Lidl or Aldi occasionally is too snobby for their own good IMO.

I always take my own Marks and Spencer carrier bag, the Harrods one is a bit OTT.

Wore the Aldi boots on Friday nite - perfectly warm feet for the whole session - and the Easterly wind combined with the clear skies, certainly brought the wind chill way below freezing! So for a cheap option my verdict is Tip - Top bargain!

Likewise, bought a pair, but not tried the out fishing as yet. Did try them whilst watching my nipper playing football, and OMG were the feet lovely and toasty!!
