It all depends what for If its all round fishing. i.e. daylight, night fishing, high winds, general long distance go for 7HT If its distance at all costs i use a penn 525 tourny mag excellent reel in reel down position

Being a recent convert to Multi,s after 40 yrs with FS its hard for me to pick a winner just yet. But having acquired a 7ht and 525 s/mag both are lovely tools that can cast well over 100yds in good conditions but both suffer from "Headwind" probs robbing you of valuable yards,unless you can sidecast under it or add weight.!!!! A work in practice !!!!!!!!!!! Gazza

I have a 7ht, very good all rounder, very smooth reel straight from the box. Took me 3-4 casts to dial it in to 100+ yards on my okay casting.

Well I voted MagElite simply coz it's so easy to use for a crap caster like me!
But I would have to say that they are probably not the best all round reel.
