are you sure the drag needs oiling? Oil can completely knacker some drag material. What's the problem?

im not sure what u mean the drag for controlling the speed of casting is? are you on about the end caps? dont put oil or grease on anything plastic, if its nylon oil or grease will deteriorate it

If it is the end cap that we're taking about here, i.e. it screws in and out in line with the spool spindle, perhaps you have it slightly too tight. It shouldn't be binding on itself. If you retighten it until you feel resistance, and then back it off a tiny bit until you can move the spool from side to side just a fraction (not enough so that any line could get trapped in the gap though) that should do the trick. If you still want to lube the inside of this cap (I do) I'd use grease. Only reason being that it will stay there longer and you won't have to reapply so often. If you need more help, just shout mate. Adam

You should not need to oil the endcaps, (though we do not know which reel you have) as you may find that your spool runs on end bearings located in the side plates. these bearings hold the spool spindles and need to be lubricated for the spool to spin freely, Common oil to use in the bearings is rocket fuel (obtainable from your local tackle dealer). My prefered grease comes from Halfords and is in their Bike department, it is called Finish Line and is white and comes in a white tube, its brilliant stuff.
