Just going through my rods and trying to sort out what I will use in the future and what I will not. (time for a clearout) I have a 30-50lb class boat rod with full rollers on it (not braid rollers) and was wondering if any of you had experience using braid with rollers, because although I'd like to keep a heavy outfit, I can't see myself ever moving away from braid these days, so if they're not compatible, they might have to go. If any of you have tried it, does braid get caught between the rollers and the brackets or is it safe? Thanks in advance. Adam

Bugger! I was hoping you wouldn't say that. :0(

Anyone still choose mono over braid for their heavy gear and if so, why? (I need convincing to keep this rod!)

No dont go there bin it or change the eye's. only time we would use it would be loaded with 50lb mono for big eels that can be nasty on braid in shallow water. Andy

Thanks guys - you've made my mind up - not sure I can justify owning a specific shallow water conger rod! Now just need to decide whether its in the eBay or re-ring pile?!
