Hi all, i bought what a green mag elite in rovers today but when i got home i realised on the side plate it says 6500 C3 CT MAG?
my other green mag elite says 6500 C3 CT MAG-ELITE
Other than that they're identical
so i phoned up rovers (where i bought it) and as far as there concerned ABU only released one green MAG-ELITE?
so im a bit confused to weather this is a MAG-ELITE or not?

Both mine say 6500 C3 CT MAG and cast well straight out the box.
Who knows where the bits come from, but they do say made in Sweden.
All the stuff we sell at work is made at our factory in North Wales and are labeled "Made in the UK", but most of the stainless steel components are bought from Korea.
Still thats better than the screw supplier we used who was selling Chinese screws in a box labelled made in England who when challenged about the origin of the contents agreed that the were Chinese but said "but the box is made in England".

well sounds like its fine then, probably just made in a differnt year or batch than my other one.

The Mag Elite's Full title is"6500 CT Mag Elite" !! the CT bit just tells you that it has the tournament cage and no level wind and the 6500 denomination is just the basic model that it evolved from. No worries ,you got the genuine article.

I might have the answer to this.
One of my Black 6500 CT reels had a damaged side plate, so I got a new one from ABU, but there was no CT stamped on the end just ABU 6500.
Apparently ABU do not sell replacement side plates with all the reels full name on hence the word ELITE is missing,
In short it stops unscrupulous people from replacing side plates on reels & selling as new. It must work as you realized it wasn't original !
