6/O Cox and Rawle Uptide Extra works for me. Scotties have them in. Very strong and wide gape to clear the bait. Getting some conger hooks just in time for the end of the conger season? Steve.

Had some problem with them a few years back when an eel span they just kept snapping on the shaft!! not enough flex.sea beast are good hooks very sharp low diameter and strong. My favorite at the mo which I now use are sakuma manta extra Razor sharp thin wide gape nice bit of flex so they don't snap! an excellent hook for all beasts ;D 7/0 would be fine.

It would be a very small Conger that could not get a 10/0 Meathook in its mouth. Usual drill match the hook to the bait not the fish you are trying to catch. My hook of choice for eels. Never had one fail.....yet.

im quite a fan of the c & r meat hooks thay have been great for me , i also rate the sakuma manta extra, so sharp and stay that way even after a few fish i always use 10/0s for conger, tope and cod as thay have all got massive mouths, im sure using a 10/0 from the shore for conger will be just the job

my opinion i would stick to those 10 o meat hooks fo the eels ,more chance of a hook up with the sea serpent ;D ,save the 5 o,6 o for the bass . use the rite Gage hooks for the rite sized fish!! smaller hooks seam to be lost in the bait ,probable lost in the congers mouth to,ive watched a conger pull a bait around all night with out a hook up more than once and they were using 5 o 6 o in a BIG bait .every one has there own preferences and opinions.stick to what you feels rite for you ,and what works for you ;D ;D
