my mates looking for a new rod but were he has money problems so he has narrowed down to 2 possible rods
fladen powerstick
shakespeare tidewater beach
he asked me to find out wich is best i have no experience with these rods and would be grateful if some one could tell me wich one is best

Have not seen either, but at that price level my instinct would be to go with the Shakespeare one. They always seem to be good value for the money and probably have slightly better quality components and will do the job. the shakespheare rod is better. try and get the 13ft one theres only a couple of quid in it.

i have a fladen powerstick 12 ft. i won it and i have only used it once, i willl let it go for a tenner

cheers for the generous offer scotty but my mate a bit funny on it he doesn't know if he will like it and were hes tight on the money he would rather see won and handle won before purchase A rod is a rod if you want to do a spot of fishing - I have handled probably around a dozen different beach rods in the last two years, some mine, some my pals' and some other folks, I could cast every single one of them at least 6o yds and they all caught fish, don't understand the guy's problem.

your right but i mean he has to pay for all his holidays to date this year hes having about 5 he doesnt often get money about 3 times a month so doesnt want to pay for it unless hes 100% sure i mean i would consider it but have know space because of current rod count

the bloke with the fishing stall on eastleigh market on saturdays is selling shakespeare rods VERY cheap if money is tight if that helps

I use a tidewater 3 piece 13 ft, good rod for the money. Lathams selling them for £22 at the moment.
