Have you tried them? cause if they have not been improved they are rubbish as well, the grooves on the lead are to shallow to allow the wires to click into place properly! After a couple of trips they wear out totally and the wires have nothing to grip on and just flap in the wind, ya might as well be fishing with a plain lead!! Sorry, Slippy, just read your post, they appear to have been improved with deeper groves but the older ones do work well provided you bend the wires in the right way, I will dig out one and show you how I bend mine - they really hold well IMHO ...

Hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs Slippy ..... This is how I make the wires grip tight .... If you fold straight alongside the weight without that 2/3mm gap - they will never grip. I started to use beads or the DCA type rollers but could not get a good grip so asked NAMIX and they said to fold like this and use no beads etc and touch wood - so far so good - I do occasionally use the girlie hairbands to wrap around the wires for extra strength which also works really well .... Hope that helps mate - as I say, if you already do this - my apologies ... Rob

I think NAMIX have gone through a R&D stage where they make the weights better, I know the new moulds have bigger ridges for deeper grooves and mine being Mark 2 version grooves are fine.
The loop can be fiddly, especially if you want to use the clip as well, I dont bother with the clip, not as good as it could be but use IMPS instead - works a treat.
The groove for the loop works well and does not move too much as you pour, if it has moved, then easy to straighten whilst the lead hardens. Having said that, the new moulds on fleabay look like they have a slot for the loop as well so should be even better.
Probably made 100 leads now, mould is fine, still trying to perfect a handle system as they come in just block form, a small metal clamp works well but want to get one of these market trader type clamps ....
Faults - the wire hole formers piece of wire does bend and deform quite quickly but NAMIX will send you some replacements no problems (thin welding rod wire)
The pour hole is quite small so you need a very hot mould for a smooth flow but being an alloy - takes no time at all to heat up.
All in all - a good mould/lead IMHO ...

Cheers Slippy .... that clamp is just what I have been looking for.
Be interesting to see a pic of your handle set up ... been trying to work something out for a while !
