hello people! my birthday is coming up soon! so i am getting another reel i am confused about weather to get the 7ht turbo or mag elite i but cast and i have been told that the mag elite doesnt far well on the but however the mag elite is pretty smooth. i am 14 and pendulum swing my bait out cuse im young us youngsters are prone to cast as far as we can.... and the new red elite has a wratchet cog which does slow the reel down but the elite also has the ultimat breaking power whih can slow the reel right down. and the 7ht turbo was desined for casting really far! if ders also what size break blocks does the turbo have also are te 7ht's prone to umbalancing?  ?  |

when you say red mag elite do you mean the hi speed or do u mean the 7000 sized mag elite? you ask lots of questions colby but i cant recall you ever putting up any catch reports Maybe he asks lots o questions because hes trying to and has not left any reports because hes not been succesful. We all gotta learn ;D |

How did you get on in 2007 Colby,did you manage to get out at all mate ..........im old and know bugger all ......your young and are learning fast I presume.!!!!!!! Did you have any good successes in 2007.. no matter either way mate.........we ,re all ears..  Good Luck in 2008 Gazza Ps.....as for your reel query,my mate has recently brought a new 7HT mag and can cast it well over 200 yds without any difficulty ...so it sounds like a good reel.!!!!!!!!! |

i havent been catching much latley as i already told you scotty i admite i havent been hardly catch atoll but at least i know im puting my best effort in sandown during 2007 hasent been doing very well atoll last time i went i coght a 4 oz pout and won the comp you can emagine ow crap its been. but in 2007 i didnt land my pb blond ray on boat 16lb.1oz and yes mate i get out every weekend |

I own both and would say from a user friendly and fishing point of view the 6500 would be your best choice, but tbh they are boh excellent reels and you wont go far wrong with either.
If you can afford it go for the 7HT Mag, as skatenchips said, they are excellent reels combining the best bits of both 7ht turbo and abu mag

Regardless of what has been writen about the 7ht mag it is a exceptional reel for fishing.
I can understand people not wanting them for casting but for fishing you will be hard pushed to find a smoother more user friendly reel.
