I always thought of amnesia as a poor mans greased weasel. I know that greased weasel (which knots up better)only comes in higher breaking strains than amnesia but that is fine with me as I prefer 50 or 60lb snoods. Heavier snoods don't kink or tangle as much as your lower strengh ones.

Scotty your amnesia does twist and kink like most low diameter memory free snoods and will not pull straight ...we had a thread about this a while ago ..... ive gone over to fluro carbon ..and have had no probs at all ..... im not saying its the best thing since sliced bread but it works well for me !!!!

I`m a professional rig maker and I use amnesia in 20lb, 25lb, 30lb and 40lb. It makes an excellent snood. I have always been able to pull it straight again, if it has a kink in it, tho what you will find is that it has very slightly lengthened in order to get it straight again. Good thing about stretching amnesia is that it doesn`t seem to weaken it.
I also use Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon on my bass, bream, plaice and pollack rigs. It ties very well and allows for a natural look in the water. I have tried and tested many many other lines and have always gone back to these two. Others have better quality in some aspects, like Pisces line is excellent for its suppleness, though the drawback for that one is the knots seem to slip far too easily, no good when you have a large bass on!!! Okay if you are targetting smaller species tho.
Guess there are pros and cons with all lines, but I would advise you to stick with Amnesia.

Usually Amnesia but sometimes flourocarbon. Have to be careful with knotting flouro even though it is stiffer and can't be seen easily in the water.

I prefer pisces in the lower breaking strains up to 40lb, have to be honest, I've never suffered knots slipping. I tie it with either a uni knot generally with more turns the lighter the test, or a whipping knot which is the same knot used to tie spade ends. In the higher strains I use greased weasel. I never use bigger snoods than 60 lb, I prefer wire for the toothy critters with an 80lb rubbing leader added when after tope. The suppleness you get with wire over 150lb mono is an advatage I think. I sometimes use flouro, when trolling for bass, floatfishing for bass etc but to be fair I'm not that convinced its any better than clear mono.
