Just from the reports that came in this weekend it looks like things have taken a turn for the worse. Darenw had been regularly having good numbers of bass from Hayling until this weekend when he blanked. I'd fish nights at deeper marks - St Georges rd (Eastney), Eastoke (Hayling), Gilkicker (Gosport) & go for whiting & codling. Take a variety of bait but especially mackeral for the whiting & try some big squid baits in attempt for the illusive cod. Alternatively try the daytime for flounder, Langstone & Pompey harbour should be a good bet.

Hi Chalkie ,for the record I've blanked again tonight Its just a reminder of how sketchy hayling can be without those southerelys to stir things up a bit although some nice fish have been taken in the last few days including several 5s and a 6lb bass.(not by me though). St Georges Rd remains the only place I have ever caught cod from the shore and that was some time ago now (late 80s) but again it fishes best after a good blow.I also had my best bass catch of 38 fish one night from there, again this was a long time ago. I see by your posts you fish S.Parade pier, that throws up a few nice fish. I've had bass sole pollack and a bonus lobster from the wall past clarence fair in the past. The sewage pipe at Eastney is ok for a variety of species as is the old one further towards the harbour mouth, first 2 hrs of the flood for this one. Anywhere along the front can throw up a bass or two if you are lucky.
