Does anyone know where you can buy mackeral feathers on a 20lb-ish line rather than the normal 50lb mono?

The only ones I've ever used successfully are the mustad mini-hokkai shrimp rigs. The only thing is the hooks are size 4 I think.

you could always make them yourself if you cant find any..... I'd have to be really bored for that. I noticed last year that on those days when you cant seem to find mackeral in any numbers that I could get them on the little mini - larve feathers, only trouble being is that they are tied on really light line and a full house would snap it. I reckon when they are being a bit edgy that 50lb mono aint helping things!

You can cut them in half an use 3 hooks if you're worried about weight of a full house...

They're the ones... Blimey thats cheap
Size 6 are usually 30lb body and 15 or 20lb snoods
I use them primarily for launce, but useful for mackerel at certain times
