the inside of my top pockets not been stiched on my salt at the front edge i dont use very often but now i have sussed why i have been getting through tip lights and bait elastic

I have it on good authority that the mustard problems have been solved and the new range due out soon are much more robust! watch this space.

no stick 2 tesco bags mate much cheaper get as many as u want plus there in there same colours as the mustad 1s plus u can always stick a colemans sticker on it

Well i wont be risking it. I`ll see how long my salt lasts and maybe get another when it dies or maybe an imax. Mustad have lost me as a potential customer, period. If they cant make a rucksack that doesn't break even before my first trip with it then you cant blame me for picking on them. Even if the new stuff is shat hot, i wont be parting with any ill gotten out of principle

I'd be inclined to agree with you Dave, I'd at least wait and see what the new Mustad offering is like before singing its praises.

Also, sailorboyrob - your comment sounds like someone who works for Mustad, or at least a tackle shop owner who pushes their stuff.

I like some of their hooks, but I personally think that all the rest of their gear is low quality compared to the rest of the market.

No I dont work for mustard mate or in the tackle trade, and most of their hooks are shite, with a few exceptions. But know a few guys who have been testing some of their new stuff, theres some interesting new gear on the way guys, cant say to much but keep an eye out. We will just have to wait and see what the end product is like! Ive been through enough of their bloody fishbags! the stiching holding the strap on seems to go if you put more than a hand full of leads in it. I had to carry a bag of cod back a 2 mile hike in my arms cos all of the handles snapped so im used to the poor quality of some of their items.

Sorry mate I didn't mean it to come across quite that way, wasn't saying you are a rep or anything . Mustad hooks do go blunt pretty quickly, but I can easily get a point back on their Viking 79515 pattern with my special hook sharpening tool. I only use those and Kamasan B940 anyway.

Some of their pre-tied feather and lure rigs are total shite, but generally it's because the knots are rubbish.

Very true, not one of their hooks match up to a Varivas big mouth! (especially a pair of 5/0 with a whole squid on them) As for the feathers the less said the better! But they are cheap and not aimed at proper danglers! I personally dont know why people get so excited about Vikings but a lot of people swear by them! Each to their own.

I like them because I can bend out a snagged 6/0 over rough ground with 30lb mainline, but it's still generally strong enough for most fish.
