will never buy penn tackle again.. sorted!! That's about right mate, will stick to Daiwa slosh reels for heavy beach work from now on they are much more reliable, never had any shite from them. When Penn gear works it's ok, but it seems a complete lottery  My 525 GS Mag was a nice reel and never played up (once I got the right oil in the bearings). My 525 Supermag casts well for a reel a bit bigger than a 6500 but the drag is shiyte  and the spool re-rengagement mechanism is about as reliable as a Lada too... Just for a laugh go onto WSF and dare to say that Penn are not all they're cracked up to be, you will get an army of pillocks saying how wonderful they are. Numpties... |

Had the old 525's for my beach work years ago and they were toss.. Decidided to finish them off in the boat, destroyed two of them on tope ;D died off very quick... I found a lot of reels are great until you start testing them with proper fish! Over rated, over hyped, over advertized....of course this is just my opinion...  |

nick u r a bit of an animal tho ;D heavy hands make lite work of inferior fishing tackle i remember castin down brading with u......absolute f***in mental :crazy: remember the rod with the sqeek intresting about these reels tho i thought they wer meant 2 b great :arg: |

it was the abu beachpower tournament! sent me 2 replacements after snapping them all and then after a stand off, my money back... :crazy: Piece of shiyte rod... Why write tournament down the side of it, if you dont want them flexed! I have changed my style since then You got through some rods though, were they not ignitors?
