I mean (you've got me going now), it's bad enough with plastic and other junk that the general population sees fit to chuck in the sea. This is my favourite local fishing area yesterday. I realise that most of the rubbish you can see along the top of the shore is not angling related, but some b@st@rds, somewhere are responsible flinging it thoughlessly away. Wheres is this RB ? I have an idea ... You can PM if it is a secret LOL

Picture is taken from above the stream looking east back towards Hillhead. The beach chalets are just visible in the distance. It has given some fine bass up to me - Anyone welcome to come and I won't even make you tidy up Daren !

Can't even blame it on age can you? I have seen anglers older than me littering. I am thirty something and though newish to sea fishing, take a cooler box with me which contains my bait, drinks etc, but on the way home, all my empty packets, bags etc. It aint hard - put the packet in the box when you are finished, let the missus put it in the bin when she unpacks your stuff when you get home

I just love the look of that beach, it has a feel of "you could catch just about anything there". Pitty about the litter though, but most of it comes from boats i`m sure! Like i have said, our southern faceing beaches are a mess, but normaly only after it has been rough.

It's true Dave, the range of species this beach can throw up as you progress through the seasons is quite remarkable (I think). Most of the decent fish I have ever reported on this and other forums have come from there. Apart from the usual crap time of year for pretty much all of us coming up, I always feel confident as I make my way along the shore at the start of a session. Even if I blanked the time before LOL !

I bet it does, i try to experiment in different spots (the ones i think no one fishes) but although that can be great, its good to be safe in a good ole trusty spot for sure!

The problem with litter is caused partly by all this packaging we get on everything, as well as the *rsholes who just drop everything they dont need. If there was a £5 deposit on every 1lb squid box sold you wouldn't find any. Put a deposit on everything thats causing a problem and whats left the one who litters pays for. The one who cleans up gets paid for it.

Packaging ! Now that really gets me into 'Victor Meldrew' mode. We've just had Christmas (in case you hadn't noticed, or have been temporarily dead for a week), and I've got daughters of 7 and 9. You can imagine the amount of Bratz and Barbie type stuff they get. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't all spot welded in with titanium cables onto huge and elaborately 'fashioned' carbon fibre impregnated card and then taken out into space and vacuum packed into a bullet proof clear outer membrane made of a secretly formulated material with a nuclear half life of 500,000 years ! Why !!!! What's wrong with a simple cardboard box ? it's easy to get the contents out and is readily recyclable. I don't bloody believe it !

I realise we (I) have strayed off the original point a bit, but on a serious note I do think the packaging issue has gone off the scale. It's all designed by manufacturers and advertisers to be eye catching of course - but it' incredibly wastefull and environmentaly costly.
