I'd go for one of the SAS balaclava's like SquidHead uses if I was on a boat. Come to think of it, I might use one on the beach. It might stop me having to go through the ritual with dog walkers comming along and saying "Caught anything" and me saying "Not yet". Seriously, go for one of them deerstalker style hats with ear flaps, not from Millets though, utter rubbish.
Steve.

Mrs got me a thinsulate woolly couple of years ago, I can get my headlamp on it and it's big enough to pull over my ears if needs be. Got it in Milletts I think. My best bit of kit though is a pair of super thermal longjohns from Lidl's made of angora and virgin wool (no, virgin wool does not come from where you think it does!). They were only £8 and if I have these on and waterproofs, nothing gets through. All I need to find now is some fingerless gloves which really do the business - any suggestions?

For gloves go with sundridge neoprene fingerless...anything sundridge seems to be good just they donnot do hats.

Normal wollen hat & neoprene gloves, you can get some gloves that the tips fold back onto velcro pads to become fingerless. I've got some Ron thompson ones.
