I have just been told by a reliable angler of a bass caught on the Island weighing 19lb 1oz it is in the guys freezer,he does not want the hastle of people so he has kept it quiet. ::)will try and get pics and put on catch reports lol ;D

just a update, this guy is banned from ALL isle of wight comps, sea angler now know he is a cheat and will not take anymore phone calls on the matter!! and total sea fishing will not waste paper on printing any of his stories, in short its game over...

Thats outragous, i cannot believe what i`m reading. So were they defrosted? Must be the only guy in the history of fishing comps that weighs in a fish gutted!!! hehehehe I remember a vague story of some bloke who weighed in the same bass a few times here. I thought it was some kind of bullshit story, maybe thats him, though i`m going back a few years, and the bass wasn't that big but he got sussed because of the bass eyes were a funny colour, the colour they go after freezing! Jesus, must be a few bob in them comps!

Another reason not to fish matches , you could be beaten before you start!!!!!!!!! Agreed. I get enough agro in my life without adding to it. Fishing for me is about completely removing myself from the 'competition', back-stabbing, blame culture and general arse ache in the so-called 'real world'.

I dont fish comp's ruins a good fishing trip and stops you specimen hunting which is what I like.Scratching for dogs and pout to get your weight up then big baits for a bonus biggie,not for me. All the best Andy
