I've never fished it but I've heard the marina wall is regarded as a good mark, I know fishing times used to be restricted so check it out before you head that way Chalkie.

I fish Brighton Marina. The West Arm is best for mackerel bashing and is not much good for bottom fishing. The East Arm is best for bottom fishing but a long walk.

I had heard that both the arms at the marina had suffered damage in the recent storms. The West arm is shut and the East arm only partially open.
I had most success from the East arm. It is a long walk (not too bad as it is all on concrete) from the multi-storey car park by McD's (and the tackle shop). Keep going along the arm until it just straightens out and faces south. Fish just there or the last bit of the curve. Flounders can be had most time of the year plus bass and mullet close in in summer.
