I'm a bit fed up with paying a fortune for a tiny half-empty tube of manufacturers oil or lub. Any suggestions for alternatives please.

I use rocket fuel in my reels for the bearings yes its £5.00 for a little bottle but I have had the bottle for 6 years not much left now! you only need 2 drops per bearing every 3-4 months, keeps them sweet. The reason i use this oil is cause it is a high volicety oil which returns very quickly to its original thickness (after however many rpm), so you save a fortune in birdsnests! as for grease I have used normal stuff not specially made by a fishing company and had no worries.
