went out to check boat really windy and rough in harbour, then it seemed to die down when we came back to shore. went to freshwater bay and it was not as rough as I thought, lot of west in it but waves huge right out,As for the long term it seems we can only hope rich for calm and if this keeps up macky aand bass shoals could come up from west very early. Also wrecks could fill up with pollack end of feb a bonus for a crap winter. The main prob temps for next winter could be even warmer an more f up.

Right, that's it, I'm off down bouldnor for some freshly washed up timber! Serious question - Is fishing in windy conditions any good? Whenever I've fished when it's really blowy, I tend to catch nothing, maybe that's just me... Do the fish leave the shallows alone until the blow subsides? Steve.

I like a flat calm sea building up to rough, seems to be the ticket to get the rays round chale on the feed, I have also found fishing excellent in very strong west's. But my favourite is a storm force north, northwest somewhere facing south, south west........

Certainly seperates the good rods from the bad ones (bite indication-wise). Im amazed at how well some of them stand up to some really bad conditions, I was still recognising bites in some of the worst winds Ive ever fished in.

I think it's about having the wind in yer face same as lake fishing. Its not so much the wind as the weed that mucks up sessions for me. My favorite time to fish ( front beach) is immediately after a big blow, a few days of strong winds. The air feels clean and crisp and the sea has some color..............perfect.
