on a size 2 hook fishing for sole too..... i almost soiled myslef when i saw it in the shallows right before my mate gilled it out... then i did soil myself.
i failed to catch a sole that night but my mate had 2

it was a special fish in more ways than one. it won me almost £300 worth of rod and reel!! i won the young rods bit in sea angler back when they gave away abu gear! i was 16 when i caught it and only just qualified for it!
i could do with a 3lb sole though!

put the pic of me coddy up. and a rather young inoccent cheesy grinned me!
as you can see it was a very lean fish, the size of the head and length of the fish led us to think if it was in top condition it would of gone over 20lb. (probably wouldnt of landed it on a size 2 though!!)
