Well you were right squidhead, watched wind at brambles and Newport, (thanks for links brmbrm and Islandnipper) about 4pm the min speeds began to drop so loaded up the car down to the boat park. Sea was still white horses offshore but not too bad inshore. Dodged sandcastles and other major construction work across the slipway and launched about 4-50. pulled my usual blue J13 and red nosed Rapala sliver towards Bonchurch on the last of the ebb, nothing, sea was bad past point so back into the bay. Decided as tide was now slack to try close in with the Maria Angel kiss lures that slipery had recomended. Wow. Bang. In about 10ft of water max Nice 4Lb ish bass followed in quick order by three others bit less. Went right in as the lures did seem to fish very shallow about 4ft water bang, even bigger fish. Nice to get out there, must finish report as wife needs to go out.

Cheers fellers, the smaller one was 4 1/4 lb and the bigger one 6 1/2 dry weight ashore. Remains of fry in guts no crab? three other s caught and returned guess between 3 and 4 lb. it was a crazy half hour or so on the very last of the ebb and the slack. lures were Maria chase SW red nose and silver. This did not catch. The lure that did the deed was a Maria Angel Kiss EXS (extra shallow) in black of all colours. No Slipster bathroom very much still with me but until my wife decides on the worktops I can do nothing except fish. Thanks for the angel kiss tip mate they seem to do the stuff inshallows at least.
