Do you get much on macky around your way in the winter IHW? For that matter....do you get many macky shoal up in wales? Cheers mate.

I agree with Ray, If i had to choose a bait for Gosport/ Pompey that caught the widest range of fish then it would be Rag.
Obviously if you are targetting particular species then you would change baits to suit.

I`ve always had my best sessions with lugworm in the winter. I fish from Selsey to Southampton.

From the boat I think fresh whiting outfishes everything else for whiting (aggresive cannibals!!!), thornbacks and conger. Around the nab end of the island the cod seem to like squid tipped with a slip of cuttle, and they were coming to smaller one squid sized baits mostly.
