Ok as its quiet here today, which way up do you put the worm on the hook? Does it matter?

yes it matters head first is the way to go with rag
now lug worm i take of the hard tail piece and thread the worm from tail end
but everybody has there own way some put head on first

Head first with both for me. I have heard stories of rag burying themselves if you tail hook them. Also hooking by the head will ensure the worm holding on the hook better as they do tend to shed their body at the best of times.

why dont you chop the ragworm into 1" lengths and thread them on the hook through the side,they would then release more scent. it is called kebab style.

I have heard of this being done by an old boy who used to fish for any flatties. May have a go, but the wriggle of the worm would get my vote more.

They've started doing that when Pike fishing, putting 4 or 5 chunks of herring on or mixing up different baits. I think it washes out a bit quick tho, although we all need to change our baits that bit quicker. So it might get lazier Anglers like me moving more,

depend what im fishing for but head first generaly and leave a 1-2" tail hanging off but i do just head hook them somtimes and give the bites more time
