Yep, have not finished our researches yet cos we keep going for lug instead but found some a few weeks ago on the Hayling side. You have to know how to spot them - I believe you can tell by looking closely for a little tubular net like structure at the top of the burrow but I expect there are guys here that are more expert than me.

can you dig bait anywhere? any beach?
i remember many moons ago that people would dig bait at leap beach. rag i think.
do people still dig bait at Leap?

yeah you can still dig rag at lepe but think it might be few and far between trip no doubt the pro's have been in and dug it out but maybe some still around if ya look

ah yes Lepe. i remember how to spell it now. thanks for the lesson. i was in Hythe marina last night and was talking to a fisherman who told me about the people that go and dig bait everyday for money. i was amazed!! didn't realise it went on.
he told me of a few local spots so i will give it a go some time.

thats been going on for years mate a lot of the rag you get from the shop has been dug from local beaches you can tell farmed rag from fresh dug beach rag a mile off
