It's the mutts nuts for bass mate, but it depends if the bass have left your location or not. Pretty much on the last dregs of the bass season. It should certainly sort out the bigger specimens...
See some of Cuckoo's posts for his livebaiting efforts.

Hello matey, I've float fished live pout down at town quay over the last month and that's what caught me my 8lb bass, but i've had quite a few takes and thats been the only one i've landed..... think i need to think carefully about hooking arrangement.......as they take off with it then seem to spit it out!!! the biggun i caught was only hooked as it seemed to have the pout sideways in its mouth and was hooked in the scissors......
Hope that helps... sorry to waffle on
Al

A good live bait rig. The self hooker..... Never (yet) used this myself, but the theory is that you tie a size 2 hook the the gape of a 8/0 hook with a 1inch measure. You then bait this with worm and wait for a pout or something similar to swallow the hook. From the crude diagram you can see that another hook is waiting for a big fish to take the live one. Job done. Who ever thought of this rig MUST have had good results;.. Bass and cod on me thinks! ;D ;D

For the bass try a size 4 treable in the top lip if you get a take leave it they will run off first stop then turn um.......just wait for the second run.
