i think these tackle companies are running out of ideas myself they can only re brand so many times.how much can you improve on the rods and reels of today, many anglers now are using there gear for longer as it is not being superceded any more.how much further can they go people are not stupid.

I guess all production will move to the far east now and you'll get a load of problems.

I have had a fair bit of shakespeare tackle over the years, Some I could honestly say left a lot to be desired, but on the other hand there were some great rods and various other bits of decent tackle, The good thing about shakespeare is that they produce a very wide range of gear to suit all pockets, from £19.99 combo for the holiday flingers (it does the job.) to the £300 plus good stuff, There is something to suit most people. I don`t think we can rip shreads out of the company for making the lower priced (what we seasoned anglers would call) crap, Don`t forget that it is this crap as such that has accounted for hundreds of youngsters and others getting into sea angling in the first place and moving on to more expensive and better things. ( I myself started with an old shakespeare green floppy as hell beach combo, but it accounted for some good fish of the pier and as a result I swapped all my carp tackle for sea tackle and havn`t looked back.) Now that you have got to respect, so I say good luck to them, they have served us well for many years be it with the good or the bad. More power to them, and may their bottom end gear continue to bring more youngsters into the sport.
