Hello Chalkie, I never specifically fished there for flounder but I know you dont get a very long session, theres only a trickle of a chanel left there at LW. Fish over HW there.
Why not try the back of the three lakes (Milton Common) thats only a walk away from you if your in Milton, do you know where they are?

Hilsea or the 3 lakes are both marks that you need to fish over high tide, you will have enough water there from 2hrs before the high tide time, so you should be able to have 5 or six hrs fishing. Close to the Eastern rd end is ok, look where the land sticks out the furthest. Flick a ragworm baited ledger rig into the middle of the chanel (10yds). Plenty of eels, small bass & the chance of a flatty. Good luck Chalkie!
