Hi all. With the tides coming up nice next weekend, i`m looking to bag a few half decent Pollock from one or two marks i know that produce them and by all accounts already are. I know they will eat many, if not all `normal` shore baits but i was wondering what anyone thought was the ultimate one to REALLY target them? I have had many on squid (heads) and ragworm, but there must be a more target bait than the run of the mill faves! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Deep spun sandeel Ok, maybe not, but sandeel is good for them. My biggest have all been on either ragworm or mackerel fillets though

Whole squid! Pick up a few every year when targeting bass and the bigger ones seem to come to the same method as targeting bass...... including the close in bit... Yeah, me and my mate thought the bass were in early one year after getting some real good takes and then hooking decent shore Pollock up to 2.5 pound on large squid baits a few years back. I`ll go for this sort of bait on one rod and have a mess about with some smaller hooks and different baits on another at different ranges. Cheers all for your suggestions.

jelly worms mate cast out and wind in slow just like you were spinning try and keep the worm about two foot under water and use a medium weight i find three ounce works well or i may be talking out of my butt

My biggest pollock was caught on a macky head on a paternoster 16.5lb bottom fishing but use to use live shrimp of yarmouth pier. Night fishing would use what you normally use dave what did big tone catch his on sandeel Dave?At the end of the day most baits will work worm squid macky! Andy
