Crab and lobster from the shore

Out of interest, does anyone get crab or lobster (or both ) from the shore regularly?
Or if you have had a nice one of either, what size were they? I have only had 1 or 2 lobsters and have lost 1 or 2 as well in the surf! My mate had a nice lobster at Yarmouth pier a few years back that went 4lb. I have also seen one bigger landed there that had a soft shell, i advised the guy to return it as it had next to no meat, he didn't listen
I once caught a nice edible crab that was tangled in a ball of very old line and old rig gear, i felt sorry for it and cut the bugger loose (much to the disgust of my mate, but i felt i had done the right thing setting it free after being unable to move for so long!!!

I had a nice lobster from Clarence beach in Portsmouth once, about 2 1/2lb. Hooked it nicely in the mouth on peeler crab. Strange fight though, kind of a dead weight with the odd thump:)
Well chuffed:) Quite a nice color too. My nan ( 94 and still going strong) ate it

Nice catch, the last one i hooked was at atherfield. I felt a few dull thuds as i went to re-bait, then saw the claws come out of the surf..........then ping, and it was gone! My mate had one about 1hour before as did a guy down the beach. Need to get into the deeper water for the crab though.

This one was caught at poole harbour , by my mate gary , live baiting a pout !!!!!!

Nice one lee, that (looking by the shell) is a `FULL to the brim of meat` female! Crack open the cucumber!

This is one my mate nick had at Atherfield summer 2006, it was only around 1.5lb.

Mine never made it on the beach for a piccy!

iv only had 2 lobsters and both from a boat, 1 in hamble river and 1 in sandown bay

Iv only ever had 1 lobster, a smallish 1 about 12" with only 1 claw, but the week before, our m8 mick davies caught 1 from the very same spot. It turns out there may be a net half burried about 40 yards out, and they seem to get in there, so looking for some good close in features might be the way to go.

honestly tb you would need some imagination to believe that is mick mate.for a start he only wears womens clothes in the privacy of his own home.
