by all accounts there are hundreds of parakeets around the london/surrey park lands, breeding and slowly spreading outwards, beats your common black bird eh!

There is a park nr us that has about 100 large poplar trees this tree has become the roosting fav for the ringed Parakeet we currently have about 4,000 of em living there. At 06.00 the whole flock annoys off for the day to feed wherever in all directions, and at dusk they all come in at rooftop height in flocks of id say ....tween 50 to 100 ..its an amazing sight to see em spiral inbetween the houses on their way back to roost. Ill have to put me Digi SLR on "Bloody rapid mode" and see if I can get some piccies of em arriving. Gazza

I live in Stanwell Edd,there is a good probability that the bird you snapped could have come from here as Thorpe is only about 6 miles away............. all our birds have only been here for about 2 yrs after arriving from Esher Police college rugby grounds.......they just upped and left and arrived here ,,,,and here they have stayed..!!!! No,,,,there not leaves.....but resident birdies last winter. nesting ............................ ;D peak a booooooooooo......... the bloody lense wos in manual focus........DOH
