Hi,
I'm looking for a beach caster, i recently foolishly sold all my beachcasters, reels etc to finance buying my outboard. I am now realising that i should of at least saved one for the bad weather and short notice fishing times.
I am after a strong rod with a stiff action and good casting ability.
I only really want to use it on rare occasions.
I have only had decent beachcasters so can only describe what i'm looking for in terms of them.
I realise i may seem to want a lot for not much money so please dont critisize i'm only asking.
I am looking for a rod that has a similar action and feel to a zziplex primo. I sold one of these lovely rods as well as my TZ500.
All the cheap rods (£25-£30) i have handled in my local tackle shop just seem to wobble in your hand as soon as you pick them up. The only one i have seen so far that comes near is a leeda riptide multiplier rod but thats (£60)
Now i only want to spend £30 as it will be fun fishing i do from now on. If any one knows of anything available secondhand in my price bracket that would be great. I cant descibe it any better, sorry, as all the rods seem to be through action where as i'm looking for something tippy with a stiff butt (same as my women before anyone else jumps in with that one). About 13ft.
I know i might not get anything for that money, but i'd rather not get anything, than buy one of them awful rods.
I've trawlled e bay but without knowing what action they've got its no use. If anyone understands what i mean and can point me in the right direction, i will be very grateful. Even if i'm told wait awhile and get XXX rod for £80 etc
I have an old battered conoflex DC6 maybe a dc8 rung for Fixed spool that i would gladly swap chuck in if needed.
Its the action of the primo i'm looking for not the build quality etc
One final thing, i want to cast a 6oz lead with a peeler bait about 125yds if that helps. Thought i might pop along to browndown on saturday
